Veterans, family members, caregivers, and supporters

Do I need an account to use ROGER?

No. Veterans, service members, military families, caregivers, and supporters do not need an account to search for resources on ROGER. Accounts are only needed for organizations or service providers that want to claim, manage, or update their organization listing. Removing account requirements makes it easier for users to quickly access resources when they need them.

How do I get in touch with an organization whose page I am viewing?

Each organization listing page will have available contact information near the top of the listing, such as an email address, phone number, website, and/or physical address. The red chat button does not connect you to the organization. It connects you with a ROGER team member. If you need guidance on how to use the platform, feel free to start a chat from the red chat button. If you have questions about program details, benefits, eligibility, applications, waitlists, or services, contact the resource directly using the information on its listing page. ROGER cannot answer program-specific questions for independent organizations.

What should I do if an organization does not respond?

Organizations manage their own communications and response times. If you do not receive a response, try another contact method listed on the profile page, visit the organization’s website, or search ROGER for alternative organizations that may provide similar support. If the phone number, email, or website appears inactive or outdated, please report it to the ROGER team.

Can ROGER apply for services on my behalf?

No. In most cases, users are responsible for contacting organizations and completing applications directly with those organizations. However, if you need additional support navigating resources, understanding application requirements, or determining where to start, you may complete the Veteran Intake Form, and someone from the ROGER team will be in touch. Depending on the situation, Backpacks For Life may be able to provide guidance, resource navigation assistance, or help bridge gaps when appropriate. Users should first contact the organization directly for help with that organization’s own intake or application process whenever possible.

Can ROGER check my application status?

No. ROGER does not have access to application statuses, approvals, denials, waitlists, case files, or internal records maintained by organizations. Please contact the organization directly for updates. For example, if a user applied for housing assistance through a listed provider, only that provider can give the status of the application.

Can ROGER tell me if I qualify for a program?

ROGER can help users identify organizations that may match their needs, location, or situation, but each organization sets its own eligibility requirements. Users should review the listing and contact the organization directly to confirm qualification. For example, ROGER may show that a program serves veterans in a certain county, but the provider determines final eligibility.

Can ROGER tell me which organization is best for me?

ROGER can help users search for organizations that may match their needs, but it cannot guarantee which organization is best, whether a user will qualify, or what the outcome will be. Users should contact organizations directly and compare available options. For example, for mental health support, ROGER may show several providers. The user should contact them to confirm fit, availability, eligibility, insurance, and next steps.

What if I need help immediately?

If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 immediately. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988 and press 1 for the Veterans Crisis Line. If you are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness in New Jersey, NJ 211 can help connect residents with housing and community resources through phone, chat, text, and web support. ROGER is not an emergency response service. Crisis and emergency situations need immediate professional help.

Is my Veteran Intake Form information private?

Information submitted through the Veteran Intake Form is handled with care by the ROGER team.
