May Events Spotlight: Honoring, Empowering & Connecting Veteran

This May, The Bob Woodruff Foundation is proud to share a diverse lineup of in-person and virtual events designed to honor our veterans, foster connection, and support their well-being. From powerful commemorations like the Dog Park Dedication, the AAM Legends of Airpower Warbirds at the Jones Beach Air Show—marking the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII—to moving performances like Torito, a play by USAF Veteran Dakota Silvey, there is something meaningful for everyone.

We’re also highlighting community events including Wreaths Across America’s Memorial Day Weekend Flag Planting, Brooklyn’s 158th Memorial Day Parade, and empowering workshops such as Mental Health First Aid & CALM Conversations, the Veteran Empowerment Workshop, and the LGBTQIA+ Empowerment Workshop.

Stay connected and supported with engaging programs like MJHS Vet-to-Vet Cafe, On Watch with Blue Star Families and AARP, Coffee Chat, Virtual Lunch & Learn, and more.

Many of these events are held in person, while others are virtual to ensure accessibility for all. To learn more or sign up for individual events, visit bobwoodrufffoundation.org or reach out to us directly at info@backpacksforlife.org.
