The Power of Connection: Veterans Speaker Series and Laptop Giveaway Coming to Jersey City

Jersey City is bringing inspiration, community, and digital empowerment to local veterans with a special event called The Power of Connection. Hosted by the Jersey City Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Veteran Affairs, this gathering is designed to uplift veterans through engaging talks, meaningful resources, and hands-on support.

The evening will feature three short, TED-style talks that dive into purpose, service, and the growing role of digital access for veterans. Speakers include:

  • Dylan Zajac, Computers 4 People | Digital Empowerment for Veterans
  • Joe Mindak, The Connective | Building Community Through Service
  • Frank Rivera, Veteran Advocate | Living with Purpose Beyond Service

In addition to the speaker series, the event will include a free refurbished computer giveaway from Computers 4 People for 22 pre-veterans along with an extra raffle winner. Attendees will also receive free copies of the book The Power of Connection as part of a special book giveaway.

This event is an opportunity for veterans to learn, connect, and walk away with valuable tools that support their personal and professional growth.
