Brett Cotter, who trains mental health workers in suicide prevention and leads retreats for veterans, first responders, and survivors of MST, DV, and suicide loss, will be hosting free suicide prevention training for Vet2Vet peer specialists each month on Zoom starting July 22nd from 12pm to 1pm. A complimentary lunch-and-learn-style experiential learning training is aimed at those who want to reduce vicarious trauma and empathy and compassion fatigue that arises during their peer support conversations. The training includes a PDF version of The Essential Peer Support Guide to Eliminate Burnout & Calm Suicidal Clients as well as access to previously hosted recorded trainings.
The micro-training next week will cover the first of six aspects of the “Stress Is Gone” suicide prevention protocol. Each month, the next component will be trained to help you develop the skills to save lives.
