Our Programs

Our programs are designed to support families through community. With various engagements across the country and online, children and adults are welcome to explore our programs and engage in on their own terms. Our dedicated staff works with families to navigate options and resources available through Tuesday’s Promise and partner organizations.

  • Youth Mentoring: A one-on-one mentoring program for children ages 6-18 who lost a parent or sibling in military service.
  • Community & Peer Support: Programs, workshops, and events that provide guided, safe spaces for mutual support, understanding, and connection.
  • Case Management: Support and guidance for navigating systems and gaining access to resources to stabilize families.

Youth Mentoring

A one-on-one mentoring program for children ages 6-18 who lost a parent, guardian, or sibling in military service.

Tuesday’s Promise Youth Mentoring program is designed to be a long-term support for children and their families while they navigate life after losing a loved one in military service. Born from our Youth Mentoring program that served children who lost a parent on September 11th, 2001, this program provides a meaningful connection with a trusted adult to foster healing and post-traumatic growth.

Volunteer mentors are recruited, screened, trained and managed by our professional staff to ensure the safety and security of everyone involved. Matches are made based on common interests, personality traits, location, and schedules.

  • Studies show that having a mentor can reduce likelihood of children participating in risky behaviors, lessen depressive symptoms, reduce truancy, promote positive social attitudes, and increase level of trust with surviving parent.
  • Mentors and Mentees spend time together with the goal of building connection, offering advice or helping navigate challenges, and sharing about life experiences in a safe and fun environment.
  • Matches can plan their connection to be in-person, virtual, or a combination.
  • Participation in the program is intended to last a minimum of one year and many last until the children enter adulthood.

Community & Peer Support

Virtual and in-person programs that provide guided connection and support within a peer community. Speakers and panels on post-traumatic growth are also offered.

COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS

Community Conversations is a virtual speaker series welcoming our families to connect, heal, and grow.

Stay tuned for upcoming Community Conversations and available recordings of past events.

PEER SUPPORT GROUPS

Tuesday’s Promise Peer Support Groups provide a welcoming community where adults can share experiences, find understanding, and build meaningful relationships with others who have walked a similar path. Grounded in evidence-based practices that foster connection, belonging, resilience, and post-traumatic growth—our groups help participants discover that while grief becomes part of their story, it does not have to define their future.
