About Project Horses for Forces Inc.

Serving Veterans and Active Forces with Wounds of Service through partnerships with horses and volunteer Veterans

Project Horses for Forces offers veterans, active service members, and their families an exclusive healing environment which challenges and empowers them to make positive changes in their lives. Our programs help participants break the cycle of side effects from invisible injuries resulting from combat trauma, multiple deployments, sexual trauma, and secondary trauma associated with military service. These side effects can include depression, anxiety, insomnia, loss of self-control, self-medication, substance abuse, job loss, family instability, homelessness, and even suicide.

Our programs provide camaraderie and horsemanship sessions which are supportive and physically, emotionally, and spiritually-challenging. Within the program, participants find stress relief through partnerships with horses and trustworthy volunteer Veterans. We are one of a few programs that exclusively serve military veterans and active service personnel, as well as their families. Project Horses for Forces also serves families of those lost in combat, deceased due to military suicide and those divorced as result of a veteran’s PTSD. In all these cases, the family unit has suffered due to military or post-military experiences.

We have programs for children of actively deployed service personnel who are struggling with their parent’s absence.  Half-day and full-day clinics are offered to groups of veterans with their Case workers or Mental Health Professionals – PTSD / MST / Families etc.

No Cost – All Project Horses for Forces programs are offered at no cost to participants.  Session duration 3-5 hours!
