About Operation VEST (Veterans Ending Suicide Together)
Our Mission
Each day, over 20 veterans die by suicide. For every completed suicide, there are over 30 attempts. This equated to over 250,000 attempts per year (CDC).
Operation VEST’s mission is to eradicate suicide one at a time by addressing the different needs of our veteran population. We aim to create awareness and remove stigma surrounding mental health so our veterans, active military, and first responders can heal.
What We Do
- At Operation VEST, we promote awareness and inform the public of the staggering statistics affecting our veterans through local events and social media.
- Operation VEST connects veterans to veterans, veterans to non-profits, and non-profits to other non-profits because TOGETHER is how we will effect change!
- Operation VEST keeps funds raised local to impact our Long Island veterans, working alongside other local organizations to assist their needs.
