Steven Callaghan is a U.S. Navy veteran, retired NYPD Bomb Squad detective, and licensed financial professional. While serving in the NYPD Bomb Squad, he earned his master’s degree in wealth management from Columbia University to prepare for a career dedicated to helping others achieve greater financial security.

He leads Mariner’s First Responder & Military Initiative, with a particular passion for helping veterans and their families navigate retirement, investments, tax and estate planning, insurance, VA benefits, and other important financial decisions. His background gives him a personal understanding of the opportunities and challenges veterans may face during and after their transition from military service.

He works directly with veterans and collaborates with Mariner’s experienced advisors and specialized in-house professionals to provide comprehensive, coordinated guidance when needed. Every veteran’s situation is different—sometimes the right solution begins with a simple conversation, while other circumstances may benefit from more comprehensive financial planning.

He offers complimentary consultations, and no question or situation is too small or too complex to discuss. His goal is to ensure veterans understand the financial resources and solutions available to them, receive guidance that puts their interests first, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
