About Island Harvest

Island Harvest takes a comprehensive approach to hunger relief, rescuing and distributing food, strengthening families through nutrition education, workforce training, and specialized programs for children, seniors, and veterans, and driving systemic change through advocacy for long-term hunger solutions.

Through an extensive network of food pantries, soup kitchens, and direct service programs, we reach thousands of people each week – from hardworking parents to children, seniors, and veterans across Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Being part of Feeding America connects us to the nation’s top hunger relief network and ensures we meet the highest standards in food safety and program excellence, strengthening our ability to serve Long Islanders with dignity and impact.

Operation: HOPE

Island Harvest’s Operation: HOPE program uses a veteran-serving-veteran model to offer peer support, food assistance, and other necessary services for Long Island veterans, active-duty personnel, and military families experiencing food insecurity.

We proudly serve thousands of veterans each month through Operation: HOPE’s mobile markets, home deliveries, VFW markets, and more.
