About Family and Children's Services, Inc.

The Transforming Trauma Program assists children and their caregivers to develop more adaptive coping skills to manage traumatic stress symptoms and distress.

Caregivers and their children will receive education about different types of trauma, develop relaxation and coping skills and discuss and process thoughts and feelings that many times get in the way of healing.

Lastly, personal safety skills will be taught and practiced. Family and Children’s Services looks forward to supporting a family’s healing and growth. FACS staff are trained to use evidence-based treatment.

How can the agency help?

The Transforming Trauma Program provides trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TFCBT) to youth and their caregiver (s). Short term, evidenced based interventions will be used to promote and support your child’s healing and growth.

How do I qualify for services?

Although there are a wide range of reactions, some symptoms that are common are to feel confused, scared, angry, depressed and/or helpless. Military families and their children who reside in Union County or surrounding areas also qualify.
