Military pay through Oct. 1 went out as usual, but the Oct. 15 pay period will be affected by the shutdown.

Some institutions are stepping up with no-interest or 0% interest advances or loans. Be sure to check eligibility and any enrollment requirements in advance.

  • USAA: 0% interest loans from $500 up to $6,000
  • PenFed Credit Union: interest-free loans tied to direct deposit status

Air Force Aid Society: emergency assistance for essentials like food, gas, etc.
